Transforming AI Agents into Operational Entities: Insights from AGNTCon + MCPCon Japan

From September 10 to 11, 2026, Tokyo's Shibuya district will play host to the inaugural Agentic AI and Model Context Protocol (MCP) conference, known as AGNTCon + MCPCon Japan. Keynote Speakers and Sessions

One of the highlight speakers will be David Soria Parra from Anthropic, who co-developed the MCP framework. Industry leaders from AI, open-source, and security sectors will gather to deliberate on important topics such as reliability, scalability, security, and standardization in the deployment of AI agents within organizations.

Workato’s FDE Lead, Tomomichi Noguchi, will conduct a session titled “Beyond Adoption: From Access Control to Execution Control in Enterprise MCP” on September 10, 2026, from 10:05 to 10:30 AM (JST) in Hall B. The session will delve into the complexities surrounding the transition of AI agents from experimental phases to full-scale operations, specifically how access controls are only one part of the equation.

For instance, while an AI agent may have the authority to update customer data, the execution of such updates cannot be uniform. Factors like adherence to deterministic logic defined by business rules and ensuring human verification and auditability must be integrated into the MCP tools to regulate the method of execution.

This session aims to clarify the distinction between Access Control—defining what can be accessed and executed—and Execution Control—how those authorized requests are to be executed. The goal is to leverage MCP not merely as a connection technology but to establish it as a reliable execution platform within organizations.
