AreaLink Partners with Tokyu Lifeia for Outdoor Storage Expansion

AreaLink Expands Outdoor Storage Services

In a bid to enhance its outdoor storage offerings, AreaLink Corporation, known for operating one of Japan's largest rental storage services, Hello Storage, has announced a new partnership with Tokyu Lifeia Corporation. This collaboration aims to support Tokyu Lifeia's outdoor storage facilities, particularly focusing on their location named "Kuramo Light Shimo-Shimmei." Beginning in July 2026, AreaLink will take charge of the management and operation of this facility, which includes 66 outdoor storage units along with a dedicated motorcycle parking area.

Since April 2024, AreaLink has been fully implementing its innovative Partner System, which is designed to provide comprehensive support for storage facility operators across the country. This system includes everything from the establishment of new storage sites to customer attraction and lease terminations. By leveraging the extensive experience and expertise gained from managing the massive Hello Storage network, which boasts the highest number of units in the industry, AreaLink is poised to help address various challenges faced by storage operators, such as enhancing property management and improving occupancy rates.

With the onset of this collaboration, AreaLink is expanding its support to not only the Kuramo Light Shimo-Shimmei but also to five additional properties over time, marking a significant step towards the growth of Tokyu Lifeia's storage business. As of June 2026, AreaLink is actively supporting 356 properties across 55 partner companies, totaling an impressive 13,556 storage units. The goal is to continue expanding the Partner System, aimed at increasing market reach and boosting customer satisfaction, thereby creating a comfortable environment for a broader clientele.

Understanding the Partner System

The Partner System allows for a one-stop solution that covers all aspects of launching and maintaining a storage service, from customer attraction to service management. By outsourcing operations to AreaLink, partners can expect reduced staff costs and minimized expenses for system development. As a result, they can also anticipate increased revenue due to higher occupancy rates, with an impressive 90% of the rental income being returned to the partner companies.
