Peregrine Technologies Appoints Adrian Kaplan as New CFO Amid Growth and Expansion
Peregrine Technologies Strengthens Leadership with New CFO
Peregrine Technologies, renowned for its advanced intelligence platform that optimizes fragmented data, recently announced the appointment of Adrian Kaplan as its first Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This announcement comes at a crucial time as the company aims to solidify its financial and operational foundation to support its ambitious growth trajectory.
A Strategic Move in Financial Leadership
The company's co-founder and CEO, Nick Noone, expressed confidence in Kaplan's ability to navigate Peregrine through this pivotal phase. Noone emphasized that as the company broadens its reach into both commercial and international markets, the need for a robust financial governance structure is more important than ever. Kaplan's extensive experience—nearly 20 years—position him as an ideal candidate to lead Peregrine's financial endeavors.
Kaplan’s Background and Experience
Adrian Kaplan comes into this role with a wealth of experience in financial and operational leadership within high-growth technology sectors. Before joining Peregrine, he served as CFO at Retool, where he successfully migrated the company’s infrastructure to support a transformation into an AI-native platform. This involved establishing a solid financial backbone while the company transitioned from traditional software as a service (SaaS) to a sophisticated AI-driven business model.
Prior to that, Kaplan held positions such as Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Glassdoor. His efforts were pivotal during the company's $1.2 billion acquisition by Recruit Holdings. He has also roots in private equity and strategy consulting, working at Francisco Partners and LEK, respectively. Kaplan holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University, demonstrating not just financial expertise but a strong technical foundation as well.
The Right Fit for Peregrine
Kaplan expressed enthusiasm about joining Peregrine, noting the alignment between the company's mission and his own professional values. Peregrine has developed an AI-powered platform tailored for critical operational environments that successfully transforms fragmented data into actionable insights. Kaplan believes that the combination of a well-designed product-market fit and a governance structure tailored for high performance will enable Peregrine to build trust with demanding customers.
“With the right financial discipline and operational capabilities, we can drive growth and expansion,” Kaplan stated, further revealing his commitment to fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
Recent Company Milestones
Kaplan’s appointment follows the completion of Peregrine's recent $250 million Series D financing, which valued the company at $6.8 billion. This funding round attracted major investments from prominent firms including Fifth Down Capital, Sequoia Capital, and others, marking a significant milestone for Peregrine as it strives to establish a footprint in federal, commercial, and international sectors. The company has also expanded its offices into Toronto and London and has successfully doubled its customer base within the past year, currently serving over 400 agencies and organizations across North America.
The Role of Data in Modern Operations
Peregrine Technologies focuses on providing organizations with full ownership and control over their data, ensuring secure, role-based access and oversight of AI applications. The platform’s ability to deliver shared situational awareness is critical in enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making in high-stakes environments. Founded in 2018, Peregrine aims to not only empower companies but also fortify the communities they serve.
As Peregrine continues to advance in the tech landscape, Adrian Kaplan’s vast experience and strategic vision will likely be crucial in carving out the company's future. His leadership is expected to propel Peregrine Technologies into the next chapter of its journey, defining what it means to leverage AI in operational contexts.
