Valeo Racer: A Revolution in In-Car Entertainment

The automotive world is about to witness a significant shift in in-car entertainment with the introduction of the Valeo Racer, a cutting-edge XR (Cross Reality) gaming experience. After a successful demo at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, just over a year ago, the system has gained traction and is set to be integrated into vehicles targeting major Asian markets.

Mark Vleko, CEO of Valeo Brain Division, expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to be showcasing Valeo Racer in the Asian market in collaboration with an automobile manufacturer. Valeo’s software solution, ValeoANswer, which debuted in 2023, is already setting a benchmark for applications, middleware, and services. The introduction of the Valeo Racer marks an important entry for this software into the gaming realm.

Valeo Racer allows passengers to engage in a unique XR gaming experience using smartphones or tablets that connect to the vehicle's Wi-Fi. This interactive game not only proposes a new immersive form of in-car entertainment but also serves as a demonstration of what Valeo's augmented reality software development kit can do.

As a global leader in driving assistance systems, Valeo leverages its expertise to provide a new gaming model that blends real vehicle environments with 3D elements for video game developers and car manufacturers. The software developed by Valeo incorporates the vehicle's existing ADAS—utilizing camera and radar technology—alongside recognition and artificial intelligence algorithms to fold the real-world driving environment into the gaming experience. The Valeo Racer is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026 and will showcase its first public appearance in Japan during the Japan Mobility Show 2025, starting on October 30, where attendees can look forward to experiencing the game.
