2025 marks an exciting chapter for seafood lovers as the 'Fukushima Joban Fisheries Fair' takes place for the first time at 'Gut Yamagata'. This event will be held from
September 26th to 28th, bringing a variety of seafood delights from the Fukushima coastline directly to Yamagata. The fair is organized by Space One Co., a company based in Koriyama, Fukushima, under the auspices of the
Fukushima Mirai Challenge Project. The aim is to promote local businesses from
Fukushima's Hamadori area, which includes 15 municipalities.
About 'Gut Yamagata'
Gut Yamagata is not just a typical event venue; it is renowned for being a major tourist destination in Yamagata. The venue offers a diverse range of local specialties, food courts, and collaboration with the adjacent Yamagata Zao roadside station. This synergistic environment helps enhance the appeal of Yamagata as a culinary hotspot, attracting tourists both from within the prefecture and beyond.
During the three-day event, participants will have the opportunity to indulge in the finest 'Joban products', which are proudly sourced from the coastal regions of Fukushima. These seafood offerings will include not only staple items but also unique creations that reflect the region's commitment to quality and tradition.
