Brian Ganser joins Cohen & Co with over 25 years of experience in leading and advising middle-market enterprises through phases of substantial growth and transformation. Over the years, he has held various roles as an entrepreneur, CEO, and advisor, working closely with founders, management teams, and private equity investors. His expertise lies in accelerating growth, executing strategic acquisitions, and facilitating ownership transitions, making him the perfect fit to spearhead Cohen & Co’s advisory ambitions.

In his new position, Ganser will oversee the strategic direction, growth initiatives, and operational performance of the Advisory Practice. This includes integral segments such as the Office of the CFO, Transaction Services, and Valuation teams, collectively aiming to enrich client offerings and enhance performance.

In recent years, the Advisory Practice at Cohen & Co has experienced significant growth, bolstered not only by organic development but also through strategic mergers and acquisitions. The firm has consolidated its cross-functional expertise to introduce a formal Office of the CFO advisory service. This initiative is designed to support finance leaders with crucial elements like financial reporting, finance transformation, and managed accounting services.

Moreover, the firm has amplified its advisory capabilities since 2024 with several key acquisitions. Notable additions include Tax & Wealth Management, a Cleveland-based firm that specializes in custom tax and accounting solutions for family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Another acquisition is Chicago-based Tassi & Company, which focuses on outsourced fund accounting and property management. Additionally, the New York-based Gioffre Company enhances Cohen & Co's expertise in outsourced accounting and financial reporting.
