Innovative Paper Craft of Pavilion for 2025 Osaka Expo by Omura Printing

In a remarkable display of creativity and innovation, Omura Printing Co., Ltd., headquartered in Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, has crafted a stunning paper model of the 'Iida Group x Osaka Public University Joint Pavilion' that will be showcased at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo. This intricately designed paper craft, created at a scale of 1/450, has been produced upon the request of Iida Group Holdings and will be distributed as a limited commemorative item during the Golden Week in May 2025.

The pavilion, inspired by the concept of a Moebius strip, is characterized by its unique curved surfaces and encapsulation by the world's largest Nishijin fabric, making it a focal point for visitors. Special attention was given to ensure that the model is easy to assemble, featuring die-cut designs for effortless construction. Moreover, efforts were made to accurately reproduce the beautiful colors of Nishijin textiles in the model's design, adding to its aesthetic appeal.

As a two-time holder of Guinness World Records, this limited item not only serves as a commemorative keepsake but can also function as a piggy bank, allowing visitors to cherish memories of the expo for years to come. It encapsulates the spirit of the expo while offering a functional use, enhancing its value as a promotional tool.

Additionally, the accompanying flyer showcases Omura Printing's comic production services, illustrating the stories and attractions of the pavilion in an engaging and visually appealing format. This approach not only promotes the pavilion's features but also enhances the visitor's experience by providing them with relatable storytelling through comics.

In collaboration with Haruto, a distinguished professional paper craft artist, Omura Printing aims to continue creating various forms from vehicles to characters and structures, accommodating a broad range of designs. The company is dedicated to maintaining the traditional Japanese paper culture through innovative paper craft designs that blend modern aesthetics. Future developments will include educational tools that leave lasting memories for children, highlighting the potential of paper craft as an original and beloved promotional tool.
