Asahi Kogyo Hosts Annual Safety Promotion Conference for 2026

On June 16, 2026, Asahi Kogyo Co., Ltd., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, held its annual Safety Promotion Conference at the Construction Exchange Center in Nishi-ku, Osaka. This event, organized by the Asahi Kogyo Safety and Health Cooperation Association, was a significant event coinciding with the 99th National Safety Week, providing an opportunity to elevate safety awareness among all participants involved.

The gathering saw members of the Osaka branch's construction department alongside collaborating companies come together to emphasize the importance of safety in their operations. The conference focused on achieving the goal of "zero troubles and zero incidents," reviewing past incidents to implement preventive measures. It included a variety of programs emphasizing safety behavior and workplace improvement.

President Yasuyoshi Takasu of Asahi Kogyo spoke passionately about the importance of everyone's involvement in creating a safe and healthy work environment, in line with the slogan for the 99th National Safety Week: "Diverse Talent, Everyone Participates, Building a Safe Workplace Together." His message to the attendees was clear: "Let us unite our strengths to cultivate a safe and healthy workplace together under the guiding principle of “No accidents; avoid and prevent accidents.”

Conference Highlights

The conference included a comprehensive program featuring special talks on safety and health, recognition of outstanding safety members and achievements, as well as the designation of excellent construction sites. Attendees were also introduced to the newly established Asahi Meister certification, rewarding skilled contributors from collaborating companies with a certification and a special helmet.

In the second part of the conference, the event welcomed celebrity announcer Hiroyuki Yamamoto, who delivered a talk titled “Daily New Encounters and Discoveries!” He discussed practical communication techniques to understand others better and foster open dialogue, valuable skills for everyday operations. He also shared insights gained from his reporting and support activities during significant disasters, such as the Hanshin-Awaji and Great East Japan Earthquakes. His presentation stressed the vital importance of preparedness and safety measures in everyday life.
