CB&I in collaboration with AG&P Industrial has made a groundbreaking achievement in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector by successfully commissioning two all-steel full containment LNG storage tanks at the LNGPH Ilijan facility in the Philippines. These tanks, each with a storage capacity of 60,000 cubic meters, mark a significant advancement in LNG storage technology and set a benchmark for future projects globally.

Innovation in LNG Storage

This project notably represents the first large-scale onshore LNG storage facility in the Philippines, utilizing an innovative design that distinguishes it from traditional LNG tanks. Typically, full containment LNG tanks are constructed using reinforced concrete; however, CBI's approach employs 9% nickel steel for both the inner and outer tanks. Successful Commissioning

The commissioning of Tank 1 was particularly historic, as it became the world's first all-steel full containment LNG tank to enter service.
