Baby Safety Foundation Launches 2026 Microgrant Program
The Baby Safety Foundation has officially opened applications for its 2026 microgrant program, aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations that foster infant health and safety. The foundation offers grants of up to $5,000 each for eligible 501(c)(3) partners to fund their innovative projects that benefit local communities. The deadline for application submissions is October 24, 2025.
Since its inception in 2023, the Baby Safety Foundation has distributed over $113,000 in microgrants. These funds have been pivotal in endorsing community initiatives that focus on essential supplies, safe sleep education, and outreach efforts. "What excites me is not just the dollars we've given, but how this program keeps building momentum... Together we're proving that small investments can drive big, lasting change for families and local communities," shared Lisa Trofe, Executive Director of the Baby Safety Foundation.
The impact of these microgrants was notable last year, with 11 organizations receiving funding to reach countless families across the nation. Initiatives included the distribution of newborn supply kits in Chicago and the provision of safe sleep educational materials available in 22 languages on the West Coast. These tangible results highlight the essential role this program plays as the next round of grants opens up.
Executive Director of EveryMom Chicago, Jamie Taratoot, highlighted the importance of these funds, noting, "The Baby Safety Foundation's support absolutely strengthened our safe sleep program. The microgrant allowed us to directly help families during a vulnerable time, reducing risks associated with unsafe sleep and giving parents peace of mind as they welcomed their newborns."
During the 2024-2025 cycle, organizations like the All for Moms Foundation enhanced outreach and distributed safe sleep supplies specifically to families with infants. The Ann Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago conducted training for community ambassadors, educating over 300 expectant parents. Boston Children's Hospital provided critical safe sleep products to struggling families, ultimately fostering a safer starting environment for infants.
Moreover, organizations such as Hennepin Healthcare Trauma Prevention Program and Oregon Health and Science University Foundation extended their reach through safe sleep education events and multi-language support, thereby addressing diverse community needs. Other participating organizations, like Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center Foundation and Stork Support of Northern Colorado, focused on training families and delivering necessary safe sleep supplies to those who might not otherwise have access.
As applications remain open, the Baby Safety Foundation encourages all eligible nonprofits to apply for these vital funds that contribute to safer environments for infants. To learn more about joining the Baby Safety Foundation and its mission, interested parties can visit
