The 2025 edition of the Spielwarenmesse, held in Nuremberg, Germany, kicked off its second day with a festive ceremony honoring six innovative products that received the renowned ToyAward. This prestigious accolade is given to exceptional toys across various categories, reflecting the creativity and ingenuity within the industry.
The ToyAward jury, composed of 14 international experts from commerce, industry, market research, toy safety, sustainability, and pedagogy, carefully evaluated the entries based on originality, safety, playability, commercial potential, clarity of product concept, finish, and quality. This year, a total of 629 innovations were submitted for consideration, demonstrating the vibrant creativity present in the market.
Categories and Winners
Baby & Infant (0-3 years)
The Geomag Magicube Blocks Stacking Safari by Geomagworld took the top spot in the Baby & Infant category. This set includes ten magnetic building blocks featuring colorful animal designs, including an elephant, lion, hippopotamus, crocodile, and zebra. The unique combination of cubes and half-spheres provides a delightful and educational experience, helping develop fine motor skills in young children. According to the jury, it’s a “charming, tech-free baby toy.”

The jury praised this game as “a remarkable memory game in a completely new genre that piques children's curiosity.”
SchoolKids (6-10 years)
In the SchoolKids category, Carrera Toys’ RC Football Set - Bundesliga merged the thrills of soccer and remote control cars. Within a pre-set field, players control miniature soccer balls using their remote-controlled cars, customizable with team logos. The jury expressed their enthusiasm for this combination, describing it as a “successful blend of football and RC car racing that promises affordable, sustainable fun for families.”
Teenagers & Adults (10 years and up)
Abfun’s Moon Acrylic Jigsaw Puzzle challenged puzzle enthusiasts with a stunning lunar depiction created from 50 atypical acrylic pieces. The jury remarked on its uniqueness and creativity, noting that the completed puzzle could double as a decorative item.
Startup Category
Qubs was recognized for its Qubitunes sound box—a versatile audio adventure featuring matching figurines. It merges creativity and auditory learning, encouraging children to engage with their playscapes while developing motor skills and comprehension. The jury applauded this educational toy for its modular design.
Sustainability Category
Plan Creations/PlanToys won in the Sustainability category with their Wave Stacker toy, which features an innovative wave design and vibrant colors. Made from a sustainable mix of materials, including rubber wood chips and non-toxic, water-based pigments, the jury hailed it as “a model of waste management following principles of the circular economy.”
