On November 26, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, Synology and Acronis announced an exciting collaboration aimed at enhancing the security of customer data. This partnership will provide a three-year license of Acronis True Image Essentials for each user of the Synology BeeDrive, BeeStation, and BeeStation Plus product lines. With this initiative, users can perform full system backups while maintaining full ownership and management of their data through local storage.

Collaborating with Acronis and its True Image products expands our simplicity to full system backups, enabling users to protect everything from daily work files to entire computer settings with just a few clicks.”

Acronis True Image Essentials provides an ideal complement to Synology’s Bee series, according to Gabriela Licheva, Lead Product Manager at Acronis. “By combining our advanced consumer-oriented backup and cybersecurity technologies with Synology's intuitive and intelligent storage solutions, we deliver a seamless, reliable, and secure method of data protection for users.”

Synology's BeeDrive and BeeStation seamlessly merge robust storage technology with decades of innovation in AI-driven file management. BeeDrive acts as a fast personal backup hub for personal computers and mobile devices. It features an on-device AI file search engine called “Deep Search,” enabling instant retrieval of files by text, description, or location. On the other hand, BeeStation serves as a personal cloud server, offering seamless file access and collaboration for households and small teams, along with AI-powered photo organization for managing large collections.

To further enhance these capabilities, the three-year Acronis True Image license provides a comprehensive system-level protection solution—not just for files, but also for operating systems, applications, and settings. Availability of the Acronis True Image Essentials License

Users must activate this license within 90 days of signing into their Synology account for the first time using a BeeStation or BeeDrive device, or by September 2028, whichever comes first.
