Research Background



This collaborative research focuses on ICEF15, a cellular therapy aimed at treating urge fecal incontinence. This condition occurs when patients face difficulties in swallowing food or liquids, significantly impacting their quality of life.

The presentation outlined experimental findings where autologous cultured muscle cells were surgically implanted into the thyropharyngeal muscles of mice affected by a swallowing disorder model induced via vagus nerve pharyngeal branch transection. The results showed observable improvements in swallowing function, correlating with the application of ICEF15.
