2026 St. John Celebration, scheduled from
June 14 to July 4, 2026. This festival, known for its vibrant showcase of culture, cuisine, and music, invites both residents and visitors to partake in weeks filled with festivities under the inspiring theme,
"History and Collaboration with a Musical Mix."
Rooted in rich traditions, the St. John Celebration commemorates pivotal events in the territory's history, particularly Emancipation Day and Independence Day. The air will be filled with cultural fervor as the celebrations kick off with lively village nights, intricately woven cultural displays, exhilarating boat races, and impressive firework displays, reflecting the resilient spirit and heritage of the Virgin Islands.
Jennifer Matarangas-King, the Commissioner of Tourism, emphasized the importance of this celebration, stating,
"St. John Celebration is one of the Territory's most cherished cultural traditions and an important opportunity to showcase the vibrant spirit of our people and natural beauty of our islands." This annual event not only honors history but also forges connections among generations within the Virgin Islands community and declares a warm welcome to guests from all around the globe.
The festival also recognizes individuals making significant contributions to local culture, service, and community spirit. This year,
Jennifer Williams will be honored as the Food Fair Honoree,
Tishelle Knight as the Village Honoree, and
Lisa Penn as the Parade Marshal.
