Tokyo's Financial Literacy Seminar for Teens

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is excited to announce a special seminar series titled "Tokyo Money Design," aimed at enhancing the financial literacy of its citizens. This event will consist of five sessions, focusing on developing stable financial assets and invigorating the financial market. The primary audience for the inaugural seminar on August 5, 2026, will be high school students, and it will be held at the Akihabara UDX.

The first session will be a fun and interactive experience featuring popular comedians Mitorizu as the MC and Kyoko Kamei, a well-known announcer, guiding the event. Special guests include the runner-up of last year’s "M-1 Grand Prix 2025," Don Decolte, alongside Yoshihara Hirona and Yumepote, all of whom have garnered strong support from the teen demographic.

The seminar aims to introduce the fundamentals of managing money, covering themes such as saving, investing, and preparing for future expenses. Kohei Morinaga, CEO of Manene and an economic analyst, will lead the session, utilizing quizzes and relatable examples to make financial literacy engaging and practical.

In addition to the exciting presentations and discussions, the seminar also offers a unique opportunity for attendees to receive personalized financial advice. The Japan Financial Economic Education Promotion Organization (J-FLEC) will set up a free consultation booth at the venue, offering expert insights on financial matters.
