In a groundbreaking move for India's energy landscape, Delectrik Systems is preparing to launch the country's first large-scale Vanadium Redox Flow Battery project with a notable capacity of 100 MWh. Project Overview


The project has been awarded by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, which stands as India’s largest integrated power utility with a total installed capacity exceeding 90 GW. The ambitious goal for NTPC is to reach an impressive 149 GW by 2032, with 60 GW dedicated to renewable energy sources.

The Vanadium Flow Battery system will be installed at the Solar Park in Khavda, anticipated to become the world's largest renewable energy park with a production capacity targeted at 30 GW by 2029. This project signifies not only an advancement in storage technology but also a commitment to developing India’s energy infrastructure completely within the country.

A Leap in Energy Storage

Looking ahead, Delectrik aims to achieve a minimum order backlog of 1 GWh in flow battery capacity within the upcoming year. Its aspirations extend beyond India to include markets in Australia, ASEAN countries, Africa, and other regions. To support this growth, Delectrik has established two wholly-owned subsidiaries—Delectrik Resources Pvt Ltd (DRPL) and Delectrik Esaas Pvt Ltd (DEPL)—to undertake vertical integration of key business areas. DRPL will focus on upstream Vanadium oxide production, while DEPL plans to offer energy storage as a service to commercial and industrial clients, including data centers.
