AAM Honors Outstanding Suppliers at Annual Supplier Day Event

On June 18, 2025, American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM) celebrated its annual Supplier Day event in Detroit, honoring the achievements of its top suppliers. This event is significant not only for AAM but for the automotive industry as a whole, as it underscores the critical partnership between supplier and manufacturer. During this gathering, AAM presented several prestigious awards, including the Supplier of the Year Awards and Supplier Excellence Awards, recognizing outstanding performance in areas such as delivery, quality, innovation, and sustainability.

David C. Dauch, AAM's Chairman and CEO, expressed immense pride in recognizing supplier partners who consistently excel in their services. "It’s an honor every year to recognize our top performing supplier partners who go above and beyond for AAM and contribute to the automotive industry," he remarked. This year, three suppliers were awarded the coveted Supplier of the Year Award:

1. Baoding Dongli Machinery Co., Ltd. – This company, a trusted partner of AAM for over two decades, supplies various components including iron-casting, steel-forging, and aluminum parts from its facilities in Europe and China. They have shown exceptional commitment by establishing local warehouses to enhance delivery efficiency, demonstrating a collaborative spirit that aligns perfectly with AAM’s operational goals.

2. Steel Dynamics Inc. – Specifically, its Engineered Bar Products Division was recognized for supplying high-quality steel products essential for AAM’s Metal Forming facilities. This supplier notably delivered nearly 75,000 tons of steel, maintaining exceptional quality standards and showcasing their capacity to handle large-scale operations effectively.

3. Okuma America Corporation – As a leading provider of CNC machine tools and automation systems, Okuma’s high-quality machining centers have been pivotal in advancing AAM's manufacturing capabilities. Their commitment to innovation and reliability continues to enhance AAM’s production efficiency.

In addition to the top honors, AAM also recognized 13 additional suppliers with Supplier Excellence Awards across various key performance categories:
