Hirogawa Town Introduces Furumachi Pay
Hirogawa Town, located in Wakayama Prefecture, has recently announced the implementation of the local donation service known as
Furumachi Pay. This service, developed by
Value Design, a subsidiary of
PayCrowd Holdings (TSE Growth: 4015), will officially start accepting donations on June 3, 2025. The initiative is part of a broader movement to revitalize regional economies through innovative donation models.
Furumachi Pay aims to broaden the scope of reward offerings from traditional physical items to more experiential rewards, thereby enhancing the local experience for visitors. By utilizing this service, contributors can easily make donations via their smartphones when visiting the town. In return, they receive digital coupons usable immediately at various local businesses, encouraging immediate spending within the community. This model not only facilitates charitable contributions but also promotes local attractions such as restaurants, camping grounds, and experiential facilities.
According to a representative from Hirogawa Town, "We hold a historical legacy with the famous tale of the 'Inamura no Hi.' This area is rich in history, with sites like the 'Inamura no Hi no Yakata' and 'Hiromura Embankment' offering depth that connects visitors to our past. Moreover, we want tourists to experience our beautiful natural scenery alongside local specialties, particularly the renowned Arida mikan. We hope that Furumachi Pay will play a significant role in this mission."
Initially, Furumachi Pay will be available at only one location: the
Takihara Onsen Hotaru no Yu. However, the town plans to gradually expand the service to include more restaurants and recreational facilities within Hirogawa, ultimately creating various donation opportunities.
Value Design is committed to further promoting local characteristics to establish stronger connections between municipalities and visitors through Furumachi Pay. The service aims to bridge gaps between communities and visitors, facilitating a more vibrant economic ecosystem.
About Furumachi Pay
