Goya Foods Launches Culinary Arts Scholarship Program
Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, has recently opened applications for its annual $20,000 scholarships focused on Culinary Arts and Food Science. This initiative is intended for students nationwide entering their first year of college, who are planning to obtain a bachelor’s degree in these fields. The deadline for applications is March 3, 2026.
Rafael Toro, the National Public Relations Director at Goya Foods, emphasized the importance of food in family and community traditions. He stated, "For generations, food has been the center of family, tradition, and community. By supporting students pursuing studies in culinary arts, food science, and nutrition, we’re not just investing in their education, but also in the cultural and culinary traditions that unite people."
Since the inception of the Goya Scholarship Fund, a key pillar of the company, more than $2 million in scholarships have been awarded to students all over the United States, including children of Goya employees. The Goya Culinary Arts Scholarship is provided through a competitive process for students enrolled in accredited two-year or four-year institutions. Each scholarship amounts to a total of $20,000, disbursed as $5,000 per academic year starting in the fall of 2026, with the potential for renewal for up to three additional years, as long as the student continues to meet eligibility requirements.
Applicants will be selected based on criteria set by the Goya Scholarship Fund and administered by Scholarship America®. These criteria include academic performance, leadership, community service, financial need, and an essay detailing how Goya has enriched their family traditions.
