Taiwanese students showcased an admirable performance, garnering the Grand Prix, along with Gold Prizes in Visual Design and Fashion Design amongst other major accolades. In total, Taiwan’s young creative talents earned an impressive 43 awards, reflecting the nation's growing reputation as a hub for design excellence and innovation.

A Theme of Diversity

The 2025 competition embraced the theme of “Diversity,” which resonates deeply with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year, the competition encouraged participants to delve into varied cultural, environmental, and social viewpoints through their designs, aiming to utilize design as a medium for fostering inclusion and promoting sustainable development.

In line with its evolving vision, the TISDC introduced two new categoriesArchitecture & Landscape Design and Fashion Design—in addition to the existing categories of Product Design, Visual Design, and Digital Animation. This expansion highlights the multidisciplinary nature of design and the limitless creativity exhibited by the next generation of designers.

Rigorous Judging Process

An illustrious panel of 50 international judges from 15 countries carefully evaluated the submissions, ensuring that only the most exceptional designs were honored. With an overall winning rate of just 0.5%, the competition maintained its reputation for being incredibly selective, further emphasizing the prestige associated with the awarded works. The award ceremony recognized 76 prizes with a total prize pool approaching NTD 4 million, showcasing the commitment to rewarding creativity and innovation.

In addition to the prestigious Grand Prix, each of the five design categories featured one Gold, Silver, and Bronze Prize, along with six Honorable Mentions. Additionally, sponsors such as the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the TPCA Environment Foundation provided special awards encouraging social responsibility and awareness of environmental issues through design.

An Inspiring Celebration

The award ceremony included an Exchange Session for the awarded students, providing a platform for winners from various countries to share their creative experiences and perspectives. Experts from international design organizations offered invaluable insights, supporting students in further enhancing their work and broadening their global outlook as emerging design professionals.

To showcase the brilliance of the winning designs, an Award-Winning Works Exhibition was organized from December 9 to 14 at the NTUST Art Gallery. The exhibition attracted design professionals, educators, and members of the public alike, allowing attendees to experience firsthand the innovative energy and diverse talent of young designers today.
