Senior Scientist Jouni Kaartinen highlights that digital paperwork — from patient registration to familiarization with medical instructions — consumes a significant portion of nurses' time. By streamlining these tasks through AI, nurses could potentially reclaim up to 30% of their work hours. Instead of getting bogged down with administrative responsibilities, they would be able to devote more energy to patient interaction and care.

Ville Salaspuro, Medical Director at Mediconsult, emphasizes this sentiment, stating that AI will be crucial for social welfare and health professionals in the future. Further, the project is designed to engage healthcare professionals directly in the development of these technologies. Associate Professor Laura-Maria Peltonen mentions that involving nursing staff in tech development is essential since past projects often overlooked their input.
