NPO YouMeWe Initiates July Bonus Day Fundraising Campaign

On July 7, 2023, NPO YouMeWe (ユーミーウィー) unveiled its upcoming initiative called the “July Bonus Day.” Set to take place on July 16, 2023, the unique 24-hour campaign will focus on collecting funds to support a significant project: the Designing Artists Academy (DAA) Summer Camp for children residing in care facilities across Japan.

This campaign stands out because on this designated day, donations between $100 and $1,500 will qualify for an incentive fund, effectively amplifying the impact of each contribution. This means that the generosity of donors can turn into even greater support for the young participants of the DAA.

The Designing Artists Academy, which took its first steps back in 2008, is recognized as one of the pioneering programs dedicated to children living in care facilities. Professional artists collaborate with these children to help them explore new forms of expression, unlocking fresh perspectives on themselves and the world around them. The moment they first pick up a camera or a paintbrush, their creativity awakens; there’s something truly special about that initial experience.

Michael Perry Clemons, founder and CEO of YouMeWe, emphasizes the importance of nurturing children’s abilities, stating, “If children in Japan are to walk long and fulfilling lives, our role as adults should surpass mere survival assistance. We must foster communication, collaboration, and creativity, allowing these children to become the architects of their own lives. No one chooses to be born; however, every child deserves the chance to grow, create, and dream.”

All funds collected during the July Bonus Day will be directly utilized for the 2026 DAA Summer Camp. This budget will cover art supplies, equipment like cameras, guidance from artists, and the creation of a safe and enjoyable environment where children can confidently engage in new experiences.
