Plenus and Its Commitment to Rice Culture
The mission of Plenus' rice cultural engagement initiative is to preserve and transmit Japan’s rich rice heritage, reflecting its deep connection to history and tradition. Through various activities, including the creation of a stunning mural titled “The Seasons of Terraced Rice Fields,” painted by former Prime Minister Yoshiko Hosokawa, Plenus symbolizes its dedication to this cause. The mural stands 8 meters tall and consists of 60 pieces of washi paper, showcasing the beauty of Japan’s changing seasons.
Furthermore, in 2020, Plenus initiated the “Kayabacho Aozora Rice Field Project” by creating a rooftop rice field, inviting children to participate in rice cultivation. Additionally, the “I Love Rice Painting Project” displays children’s rice-themed artworks along the walkway of its rice milling facility. Through these programs, Plenus continues to foster a love for rice among younger generations, ensuring the preservation of this vital aspect of Japanese culture for years to come.
