Mila-bo Launches Comprehensive Maternal and Child Health App in Japan

Introduction to Mila-bo's New App

Mila-bo, a company specializing in municipal services based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has officially introduced its innovative maternal and child health app named "mila-e (ミライー) おやこ手帳" in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture. This app, now known as "あしかがおやこ手帳," aims to support families in their parenting journey starting from April 6, 2026.

Background of the App Launch

In recent years, Ashikaga City has implemented several digital initiatives, beginning in 2023 with the adoption of various services designed to assist families in raising children. These include the "あしかが子育てアプリ" and the online reservation service "mila-e 予約." Additionally, a digital vaccination pre-examination ticket service, "mila-e 予防接種," has been integrated, focusing on regular immunizations for infants and young children (excluding the HPV vaccine). The recent upgrade to the core maternal and child health app was undertaken to enhance its support for parenting families, which reflects the ongoing commitment to modernize and improve these public services.

Key Features of the mila-e App

The mila-e おやこ手帳 introduces several new features, including seamless integration with the digital vaccination services. In the past, after a vaccination, users had to manually input their vaccination records into the app. However, thanks to the new functionality, vaccination records will be automatically displayed within the app without requiring any manual entry.

Moreover, existing features such as age-appropriate notifications from Ashikaga City, a vaccination scheduler to prevent missed shots and interval mistakes, and an electronic maternal health handbook function that allows users to store growth charts and health check records in their personal pages will continue to be available.

These enhancements signify a broader goal of creating a safe and supportive environment for child-rearing. Mila-bo is also committed to leveraging ICT for establishing a sustainable support system for families in the local community.
