This November, the city of Hachioji in collaboration with Nippon Convention Services will host the much-anticipated Hachioji Open Factory 2025 event. Scheduled for November 22nd and 23rd, this unique experience invites visitors to explore and partake in workshops across 33 local factories and craft workshops, showcasing the rich heritage of traditional crafts and the innovative spirit of contemporary manufacturing.

This year marks the third iteration of the Open Factory event, which aims to celebrate Hachioji’s vibrant industrial landscape. Notably, it introduces an exclusive Premium Experience for adults, allowing attendees to engage in high-quality, hands-on activities that highlight the perfect blend of craftsmanship and artistry.

Highlighted Experiences:

1. Wool Stole Ordering with Master Weaver Nobu Sawai
Participants can choose their favorite yarn colors and witness the incredible skill of Nobu Sawai, recognized as a “Contemporary Master Craftsman,” as he weaves bespoke wool stoles on traditional looms. Furthermore, attendees can learn to create coasters using hand looms in a hands-on workshop.

2. Sake Brewing at Tokyo Hachioji Sake Brewing Company
