Experience the Refreshing New Look of Actus Shinjuku Store's Danish Modern Space

Transforming the Actus Shinjuku Store's Second Floor

On October 25, 2025, the Actus Shinjuku store celebrated a revitalizing refresh of its second floor, reintroducing the European furniture floor under the theme “Danish Modern.” This flagship store in the heart of Tokyo has been a pivotal platform for showcasing both the contemporary and historic appeal of Danish furniture.

With a significant expansion of the space and a broader assortment of top Danish furniture brands, customers can now delve deeper into the essence of Scandinavian design, embracing Actus’s philosophy of sustainability and timeless quality – values upheld since its inception.

A 40-Year Journey of Excellence

Since opening its doors in 1985, the Actus Shinjuku store has successfully transported the charm of Scandinavian design to the Japanese market for over four decades. The recent updates pay homage to the rich history of Danish furniture, condensing its values into an appealing and accessible format.

Notably, the allure of Danish furniture, which has been cherished for more than fifty years, stems from its robust craftsmanship and use of high-quality materials, aimed at creating pieces designed for longevity and sustainability. Actus’s mission has always revolved around communicating the intrinsic value of furniture and fostering a culture of continuity and appreciation across generations.

Insightful Experience Through Interactive Displays

The redesign of the second floor features booths where visitors can engage with the design process and materials, allowing for an immersive understanding of Danish interior design philosophy. While exploring, customers will uncover how craftsmanship and sustainability blend seamlessly in Danish furniture.

1. Eilersen: A Journey of Comfort and Craftsmanship

Among the highlights is the newly established full line-up space for Eilersen, a renowned Danish sofa brand with a 130-year history. Actus Shinjuku is proud to present the only space in the Kanto region where customers can experience their complete range. To celebrate its anniversary, a special edition sofa, adorned with Nishijin-ori fabric from Japan, will be showcased for a limited time, embodying the fusion of Danish craftsmanship and Japanese aesthetics.

The BIGCARLTON sofa, draped in exquisite Nishijin-ori vintage fabric, awaits visitors, promising a unique experience that reflects Eilersen’s journey from creating horse-drawn carriage seats to becoming a leader in quality furniture.

2. Danish Modern: A Convergence of Iconic Brands

Introducing the new Danish Modern area, this space gathers the finest Danish brands like PP MØBLER, FREDERICIA, and CARL HANSEN & SØN, offering a platform to appreciate the craftsmanship of legendary designers such as Hans J. Wegner and Bøje Mogensen. This area serves not only as a retail space but as a museum-like environment where visitors can learn about and admire the legacy of Danish design.

The Danish Modern section highlights the nourishing spirit of craftsmanship in Danish furniture, allowing customers to discover and experience its richness firsthand.
