Dr. Miller's academic journey is impressive. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, followed by an MBA from Webster University. His pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there; he further attained a Master of Philosophy in Management and a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University. Furthermore, he enhanced his teaching skills by completing the prestigious "Teaching with Cases" program at Harvard Business School.
Before his notable role in academia, Dr. Miller held various executive positions that provided him with a robust foundation in finance and leadership. Notably, he served as the Vice President of Business and Finance at Allen University, and as Vice President of Consumer and Executive Banking Manager at the South Carolina Community Bank. He further enriched his expertise through leadership roles at Wachovia Corp.
His contributions extend beyond the classroom. Dr. Miller has actively participated in several community and civic engagements. He has held leadership roles with the Carolina Uplift Foundation, Inc., and is affiliated with esteemed organizations, including the National Society of Leadership and Success, National Black MBA Association, and more. His initiative, SPARKING STEAM, LLC A Little Bit of HOPE, epitomizes his commitment to inspiring young minds.
At Benedict College, he is an active member of the Curriculum Committee, Library Committee, and Graduate Program Advisory Council. Also, he serves on the Athletic Advisory Committee and holds the title of Faculty Athletics Representative, recently being selected as a 2025 NCAA Division II Faculty Athletics Representative Fellow.
Dr. Miller's accolades are numerous. He has received the Leaving the Legacy Award from the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., and was nominated for the William T. Camper Award for Excellence in Teaching. His honors also include the Trailblazer Award and the Omega Man of the Year Award. As a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., he actively participates as the Sixth District Social Action Chair and the Omega Boys Leadership Camp Director.
In addition to his professional and civic endeavors, Dr. Miller enjoys sports, traveling, mentoring, and engaging in academic publishing and presentations at various conferences.
