Elsight Expands Manufacturing in US and Europe for Defense Supply Chains

In a strategic move that highlights its commitment to meeting the growing demands of local defense supply chains, Elsight (ASX: ELS) is expanding its manufacturing capabilities in both the United States and Germany. This expansion is driven by the increasing need for localized production amid rising geopolitical tensions and the demand for reliable defense communications systems.

The company offers mission-critical connectivity for uncrewed systems, facilitating operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) across various domains, including air, land, and maritime. With over 500,000 operational hours logged across 100+ clients, Elsight's flagship product, Halo, has established its reliability with cutting-edge technology that intelligently merges cellular, satellite, and radio frequency communications into one robust connectivity solution.

As defense budgets rise within the US and Europe, the importance of localized production has and continues to grow. Reducing reliance on external suppliers not only mitigates risks associated with geopolitical issues but also creates jobs and supports local economies. Elsight's initiative comes at a crucial time as NATO-aligned forces and various government agencies are increasingly integrating Elsight’s technology, transitioning from pilot evaluations to full-scale production procurement.

Another vital aspect of this expansion is Halo's recent inclusion in the DCMA Blue UAS Cleared List, allowing for quicker military procurements. Moreover, compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) reinforces the trust defense agencies place in Elsight's products, as they seek domestic or allied nation-based supply options.

CEO Yoav Amitai emphasized the significance of these new manufacturing capabilities. He noted, "By ensuring production across the US, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, we can guarantee continuity despite potential geopolitical disturbances, supply chain hiccups, or sudden surges in demand. Our new production capabilities not only enhance delivery timelines but also provide the redundancy essential for mission-critical operations."

The European facility, located in Bavaria, will house several certified production sites capable of producing up to 10 million units annually. The US facility, based in California, is equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, including two high-performance Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines, supplemented by both automated and manual assembly methods.

As a carrier-agnostic solution, Elsight’s Halo technology is designed to provide 99% reliability for various uncrewed systems, including drones and unmanned ground vehicles. With its compact size—available as a sub-100g OEM module or a ruggedized boxed version—Halo supports beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations critical for defense, public safety, and commercial applications.

Elsight has solidified its position as a pivotal player in the uncrewed systems sector, supporting missions on a global scale where mobility and reliability play crucial roles. For further information about Elsight and its innovative solutions, visit their website at http://elsight.com.
