Six+One's Notable Recognition in the World Changing Ideas Awards
Recently, the nonprofit organization For The Greater Hood (FTGH), established by the creative agency Six+One, received a prestigious honor from Fast Company in the Social Justice category of their 2026 World Changing Ideas Awards. This annual event recognizes initiatives that produce significant, measurable impacts across various sectors, showcasing the innovative work being done to improve society.
A New Approach to Dignity
For The Greater Hood's noteworthy initiative, titled
Dressed In Dignity, represents a pioneering shift in how communities support individuals and families facing hardships. Rather than adhering to traditional methods of clothing donations, FTGH has ingeniously converted empty storefronts into boutique shopping experiences. Guests are invited to explore these temporary storefronts where they can select brand-new clothing items at no cost—a service that has been crafted around the principles of dignity, choice, and hospitality.
Since its inception, For The Greater Hood has distributed over
50,000 new clothing items, reaching more than
17,000 men, women, and children in seven U.S. cities, reflecting the organization's commitment to social responsibility. It has successfully facilitated more than
$2.5 million in donated apparel, demonstrating a powerful model for community support and empowerment.
Expanding the Vision
As part of its ongoing mission, For The Greater Hood is preparing to unveil its first permanent flagship location in
Paterson, New Jersey. This development marks a significant evolution of its model, transitioning from pop-up activations to a sustained community resource. The location will provide not only clothing but also mentorship, job-readiness training, and creative programs aimed at assisting families in need.
Eric Rojas, the Founder of For The Greater Hood and the Chief Creative Officer of Six+One, underscores the organization's core mission, saying, "We started with a belief that people should never have to sacrifice their dignity to receive help. This recognition disseminates an important truth—that thoughtful design, hospitality, and compassion can transform how services are delivered and how people experience them."
The Significance of the Award
This year's awards, with winners displayed on fastcompany.com, highlight an impressive array of
191 innovative projects across 14 different categories. A selective panel of Fast Company editors and reporters evaluated over
1,500 submissions, considering each project’s impact, sustainability, creativity, scalability, and overall contribution to societal improvement.
Brendan Vaughan, Editor-in-Chief of Fast Company, emphasized the real-world relevance of the awards, commenting, "The World Changing Ideas Awards are more than inspiration—they're a measure of real-world impact. This year's honorees are turning bold ideas into tangible solutions and addressing urgent global challenges with creativity and rigor."
Featured in Fast Company’s Summer 2026 issue, available on newsstands from June 23 onward, the awards cover an array of solutions targeting pivotal issues, including advancements in geothermal energy, innovative privacy-focused cell plans, and municipal grocery ventures.
