Sibel Health's Milestone Achievement
Sibel Health, a recognized leader in the medical technology sector, has marked a significant development with the completion of a new funding round and the acquisition of essential regulatory approval. The company recently announced a successful close on $30 million in Series C equity financing, which was spearheaded by existing stakeholders, namely the Steele Foundation for Hope and Dräger. This funding is anticipated to accelerate the deployment of Sibel's innovative monitoring platform, ANNE® One.
Funding Details and Collaborations
Steve Xu MD, the co-founder and CEO of Sibel Health, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the investment given the current challenging funding landscape. He noted that the confidence shown by existing investors in the trajectory of Sibel's product development fuels their optimism for future growth.
Historically, the Steele Foundation for Hope played a pivotal role in Sibel's Series B funding, contributing $20 million. Similarly, Dräger, a global pioneer in medical and safety technology, has been a long-standing supporter, leading the Series A funding with an investment of $10 million.
Innovative Technology and Regulatory Approval
The financing announcement coincided with Sibel's acquisition of its seventh FDA 510(k) clearance, a major regulatory milestone that enhances the functionality of the ANNE® One platform. With this approval, Sibel's wearable device now offers advanced monitoring capabilities, including alarms and alerts, alongside a powerful central monitoring station.
Jong Yoon Lee, CTO and co-founder of Sibel Health, highlighted the significance of the ANNE® One platform being one of the inaugural medical devices to achieve FDA clearance under the IEEE SDC 11073 standard. He emphasized that this standard promotes open, secure communication between medical devices, moving away from traditional proprietary systems. This interoperability is becoming increasingly vital as healthcare providers demand integrated monitoring solutions for comprehensive patient care.
Looking Ahead: Partnerships and Expansion
Beyond recent financing, the future appears bright for Sibel Health. In early 2024, they were awarded a substantial grant of $17.5 million from the Gates Foundation, further solidifying their position in the industry. Later that year, Sibel Health, alongside Dräger Denmark, was selected to implement continuous wireless monitoring systems in multiple hospitals throughout the Copenhagen area.
Notably, in March 2025, Sibel Health celebrated another achievement: the acquisition of ANNE® One systems by Northwestern Medicine. This move aims to enhance both nurse workflow and patient sleep quality through the integration of wireless sensors.
