Fest Machida 2026
The much-anticipated
40th Fest Machida is set to take place in May 2026, showcasing the vibrant culture and community spirit of Machida City, Tokyo. This event will immerse attendees in the rich traditions of Okinawa, particularly through the enchanting performance of Eisa dance, which embodies the island's history and culture.

- - May 9 (Saturday): 1 PM to 5 PM
- - May 10 (Sunday): 11 AM to 5:40 PM
Note: Due to traffic regulations, all vehicles will be restricted on Haramakita Street on May 10 from 10 AM to 7 PM.
Activities & Performances
May 9: Street Procession
On May 9, the event will kick off with a lively
Michi June procession, featuring local Eisa groups dancing through the streets around Machida Station. This procession not only serves as an entertaining spectacle but also as a celebration of community and cultural exchange.
May 10: Main Event
The following day will host a range of exciting activities:
- - Opening Ceremony and Eisa Performances: From 11 AM to 5:40 PM, attendees can enjoy captivating performances from various Eisa groups, showcasing their traditional dances at multiple venues, including the Tokyu and Jyouunji locations.
- - Food Stalls and PR Booths: Located throughout the Haramakita area, visitors can indulge in delicious local delicacies and engage with various organizations and businesses at their booths.
- - Okinawa Cultural Expo: At Poppo Machida, attendees can explore and purchase unique products from Okinawa, highlighting the region's rich artistic and culinary heritage.
- - Live Music: Enjoy live performances featuring Okinawan music from noon to 4:30 PM at the East Exit Plaza of Odakyu Machida Station. Audience members will also have a chance to cheer for local sports teams.
Charity Initiatives
In addition to the performances and cultural showcases, Fest Machida 2026 will also support charity efforts for earthquake recovery in the Noto Peninsula area, with donation activities planned within the venue.

Twenty Eisa groups will participate in the event, including:

- - Machida Ryu (Machida City)
- - Chura Kaze (Machida City)
- - Aominami Eisa (Machida City)
- - Machida Yusei (Machida City)
- - Wako Youth Association (Machida City)
- - Other groups from nearby towns and cities.
