Celebrate Sustainability Month at GREEN SPRINGS

From May 1st to 31st, 2026, GREEN SPRINGS, a multi-faceted complex operated by TachiHi Strategy Lab based in Tachikawa, Tokyo, will host the Sustainability Month. During this event, various stores within this vibrant community will showcase menus and products featuring fair trade ingredients. This initiative aims to embody the facility's concept of 'well-being,' promoting a lifestyle that nurtures both mental and physical health.

Why Fairtrade?

As the world's population continues to grow, many farmers are increasingly challenged by climate change, which drastically reduces crop yields. Consequently, farmers may struggle to maintain a stable income, forcing them to consider changing careers. By choosing fair trade products, consumers can positively influence the sustainability of farming practices and support producers in developing countries. What to Expect

Participating stores during the event include:

• - Asian Bistro Dai: Sample their Soft Shell Crab Curry (1,518 yen), made with a rich curry paste using fair trade spices and topped with scrambled eggs.

• - LIZARRAN: Indulge in their luxurious Earl Grey Pound Cake (3,990 yen), crafted by their skilled pastry chef, featuring the aromatic flavors of fair trade Earl Grey.

• - Rojiura Curry SAMURAI: Refresh yourself with an original Homemade Sangria (880 yen) using fair trade red and white wines.

• - 100 Mon no Spoon: Their delicious Café Mocha (715 yen) combines espresso with milk and chocolate sauce.

• - Motherhouse: Don’t miss their unique Youth Chocolate (2,484 yen) co-developed with Reitaku High School's SDGs study group, utilizing Indonesian cocoa.

• - Sestina: Enjoy their rich Organic Chocolate Gelato (450 yen) made with KAOKA chocolate.

In addition, newly opened TEGAMISHA BOOKSTORE will feature a selection of insightful books like “SDGs Basics” (1,540 yen), encouraging guests to consider fair trade as a core part of their strategies for social responsibility.

A Month of Action: Fair Trade Million Actions Campaign

Simultaneously running throughout May, the Fair Trade Million Actions Campaign is one of Japan's largest campaigns to promote fair trade activities. Whether through purchasing fair trade products, posting on social media, or participating in events, each action contributes to a donation of 1 yen to producers in developing nations.

These combined efforts of the campaign and Sustainability Month seek to deepen awareness and appreciation for fair trade, while fostering community and education around sustainable practices.
