Announcing the Winners of the End-of-Life Haiku Award 2025!
On September 11, 2023, the End-of-Life Haiku Selection Committee hosted an event at one of the largest exhibitions in the industry, the "Ending Industry Exhibition 2025," announcing the grand prize and other award-winning works. The grand prize went to the haiku titled "Realizing Regrets and Building Love through End-of-Life Preparation" by Mi-Pan from Chiba Prefecture.
The End-of-Life Haiku Award aims to gather reflections on "shukatsu" (end-of-life preparation), focusing on organizing one's surroundings, funeral planning, managing assets, and activities that enhance the quality of remaining life. This year’s competition attracted 3,442 entries from across Japan, showcasing heartfelt insights into the human experience surrounding death and legacy.
