Saudi Manga Productions Takes Center Stage at Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2026

Saudi Manga Productions, based in Riyadh, is excited to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2026, set to take place from March 13 to 16 in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. As part of this initiative, the company will also host an official symposium aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration between the Middle East and Japan through anime.

Join the Free Symposium

The symposium, titled "Bridging the Middle East and Japan Through Anime: New Possibilities for Youth Development and Education," will occur on March 15, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Toshima Community Center. This event is free of charge and open to all interested attendees, who are encouraged to join either in-person or via live online streaming.

The program features a panel discussion featuring prominent figures in the anime industry, including Tetsuya Koga, the former head of Kadokawa Contents Academy, and Marzen Alzahrani from Manga Productions’ Business Development Department. The discussion will be moderated by Ryo Koarai, an anime columnist and researcher at Hokkaido University's Advanced Research Center for Tourism.

An Insightful Dialogue

During this engaging session, the panelists will discuss various educational initiatives leveraging anime and manga in the Middle East. Specific topics include their internship programs and hands-on training experiences in Japan, showcasing successful online and offline educational programs, workshops, and field training initiatives conducted in both Saudi Arabia and Japan.

The discussion will also highlight various competitions aimed at discovering and nurturing young talent within the Saudi Arabian creative community. Through these concrete examples, the symposium aims to illustrate how youth development in the Middle East is intricately linked to the Japanese anime and manga industry. Additionally, participants will explore the educational value of anime and the potential for cross-border talent exchange.
