Exotec Strengthens Cybersecurity with New SOC2 Type 2 Certification

Exotec Enhances Cybersecurity with SOC2 Type 2 Certification

On April 17, 2025, Exotec SAS, headquartered in Croix, France, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Exotec Nihon Co., Ltd., based in Minato, Tokyo, has successfully obtained the SOC2 Type 2 certification. This certification, established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is an international standard for cybersecurity that validates the company's strong operational framework for securely handling client data through third-party assessment.

This latest achievement follows Exotec's acquisition of the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification in November 2024, which is recognized as an international standard for information security management systems. While ISO/IEC 27001:2022 evaluates the organization’s security measures and policies, SOC2 Type 2 demonstrates the real-world implementation of these frameworks. With this, Exotec has become the only company in the industry to publicly hold both certifications.

In today’s logistics and warehousing environment, where businesses routinely manage critical data, such as inventory information and customer data, robust security has become increasingly significant for maintaining supply chain stability and competitiveness. Modern warehouses, increasingly automated, rely heavily on the integration of IT systems and physical equipment, making the safety of these systems crucial for companies adopting them.

Exotec has implemented a three-tiered security strategy that encompasses technological, operational, and organizational measures, ensuring customer data protection across all functions. The company adheres to legal and regulatory requirements in various countries and recognizes that the SOC2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certifications necessitate ongoing external audits and updates. This requirement ensures continuous maintenance of high-security standards.

Currently, Exotec provides solutions to numerous prominent corporations worldwide, and its strict cybersecurity measures build strong confidence even during the decision-making process for potential clients. The company's ability to adapt to regulations and requirements in different regions is a critical factor supporting the global expansion of its client businesses. Continuous initiatives such as 24/7 monitoring and cybersecurity training for employees set Exotec apart in the competitive landscape, earning it high regard in the market.

Pascal Ferrand, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Exotec, states, "Acquiring both ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC2 Type 2 certifications reflects our belief that cybersecurity directly influences trust and corporate value, going beyond mere compliance. This is part of our commitment to fostering long-term relationships with clients and ensuring the ongoing safety of our solutions."
