During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, held in Barcelona, Huawei showcased its latest advancements in digital healthcare. This gathering, titled "Digital Intelligence for Inclusive Healthcare," attracted healthcare industry leaders from around the globe, who shared insights and strategies for the digital transformation of healthcare and the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

Dr. Peter Zhou, Huawei's Vice President and President of the Data Storage Division, opened the event by highlighting the company's commitment to maximizing the use of continuous data accessibility. Huawei has developed innovative products like multimodal converged data lakes and DCS AI to elevate AI capabilities in healthcare.

Wind Li, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Global Public Sector Division, emphasized the company's support for over 5,600 healthcare institutions across more than 110 countries. He stated that Huawei is dedicated to strengthening digital and intelligent transformation foundations in global healthcare, accelerating innovative solutions tailored to specific local needs, and enhancing AI integration.

Hong-Eng Koh, Huawei's Chief Scientist for the Global Public Sector, delivered a keynote speech where he discussed the immense potential of AI in healthcare. He pointed out that AI can significantly boost diagnostic precision and efficiency while reducing healthcare professionals' workloads and offering patients more personalized treatment options.

Luis Santiago Sánchez Fernández, Technical Director of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS), introduced the centralized HIS/EMR system, Diraya. This system enhances healthcare access for nearly nine million residents, showcasing the Andalusian Digital Health Strategy 2030 and SAS's digital program for the next five years. In collaboration with Huawei, SAS aims to provide intelligent, human-centered, effective, and safe healthcare services.

Tsvetomir Nikolov, IT Director of Acibadem City Clinic in Bulgaria, shared his experience regarding digital transformation in healthcare. He underscored the critical role of digital technologies in providing comprehensive patient services. The partnership between Acibadem and Huawei is focused on developing intelligent hospital complexes and active data centers, drastically improving data access speeds for HIS/PACS/EMR systems by up to ten times.

Feng, Sales and Business Development Manager at KFBIO Europe, noted that deep learning algorithms enable AI to assist physicians effectively in making pathological diagnoses. KFBIO and Huawei have collaborated to create AI-based digital pathology solutions that enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.

Looking ahead, Huawei plans to increase its investments in technological innovations, integrating AI to address specific healthcare needs while promoting intelligent healthcare and making health services accessible to all.
