Nippon Express (Belgium) NV/SA, a subsidiary of Nippon Express Holdings, Inc., has officially opened a new logistics base within the newly established Brucargo Central facility in the Brussels Airport Cargo Zone. This significant move, which took place on May 16, positions NX Belgium to cater to the expanding logistics needs of the healthcare sector across Europe.

Belgium is recognized as a hub for global pharmaceutical companies, contract manufacturers, and biotechnology research institutes. The strategic decision to establish a logistics base in this region underscores NX Belgium’s commitment to providing high-quality pharmaceutical logistics services. By joining Pharma Aero and achieving Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification, NX Belgium is set to enhance its standing within the industry.

The new state-of-the-art warehouse features a total floor area of 10,000 square meters, which is nearly double that of its previous location. Importantly, the facility includes a 2,000 square meter temperature-controlled section designed to maintain critical temperatures for sensitive pharmaceuticals, accommodating ranges of 2°C-8°C for refrigerated goods and 15°C-25°C for ambient storage.

NX Belgium's new facility is equipped with a high-end security system and is pending TAPA Level A certification, a mark of excellence in security standards for transport and logistics facilities. These features ensure stringent safety and security protocols are adhered to, essential for the storage and transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. The company is also working towards obtaining GDP certification for this new warehouse by the end of 2025.
