CU SoCal's Back-to-School Campaign
As the new school year approaches, Credit Union of Southern California (CU SoCal) is encouraging families to prepare by launching their latest promotion aimed at young individuals. From July 1 to August 31, 2026, the credit union has unveiled exciting offers for Youth Memberships targeted at children and teens aged 17 and younger. This initiative seeks to empower the youth in Southern California to develop healthy saving habits and financial literacy from an early age.
What’s on Offer?
Eligible new Youth Members will enjoy a generous welcome package that includes a
$25 bonus deposit to kickstart their savings. Additionally, they will receive a
$10 In-N-Out® gift card while supplies last. As an extra incentive, every new membership opened during this period will automatically enter the member into a draw for one of three
$500 gift cards to either Target® or Walmart®. Such offers are crafted to stimulate interest in personal finance among the youth, engaging them at a critical phase in their development.
Dave Gunderson, the President and CEO of CU SoCal, expressed the organization's vision for this initiative, stating, "We hope this promotion encourages Southern California youth to develop strong saving habits, build financial confidence, and learn skills that will help them thrive throughout their lives." This underscores CU SoCal's commitment to not just providing financial services, but also to educating and empowering its members.
Financial Literacy for Youth
In addition to the Youth Membership incentives, families can also take advantage of CU SoCal’s
Financial Literacy for Youth program (CU F.L.Y). This educational resource is dedicated to helping young individuals gain knowledge on managing money, setting savings goals, and understanding the basics of financial literacy. The program aims to provide a comprehensive foundation that will serve the youth long into adulthood.
Parents or legal guardians are required to open the Youth Membership in person at any CU SoCal branch. This personal touch not only fosters a familial connection to financial institutions but also ensures that young members receive guidance and mentorship in their financial journeys.
