Randstad's Special Webinar on Women's Health and Cancer
In October 2025, Randstad, a leading human resource services provider, will mark Pink Ribbon Month with a noteworthy online webinar dedicated to women's health and cancer awareness. This initiative is spearheaded by Randstad's Gender Employee Resource Group (ERG), which emphasizes the importance of workplace well-being. The insightful session will feature expert guidance from Dr. Kanako Inaba, a well-respected obstetrician-gynecologist, who will delve into crucial topics related to women's health and the significance of early detection of cancer. Moreover, the webinar aims to stimulate understanding and support for colleagues battling cancer while maintaining their professional commitments.
Focus on Awareness and Support
The creation of this cancer-themed webinar stemmed from the desire of Gender ERG members to inform not only women but also their partners and colleagues about essential knowledge regarding women's health issues and the critical nature of early cancer detection. With advancements in medical care and an increasing number of women in the labor force, it is anticipated that more individuals will need to balance cancer treatment with their careers. Therefore, supporting those who navigate such challenges becomes a pressing societal concern.
This webinar primarily targets Randstad's female employees and temporary workers while also inviting male employees and the general public to consider the health of their families and friends. By fostering discussions around women's health and related struggles, Randstad aims to enhance health literacy across its network, creating a safer and more inclusive work environment for everyone.
Insights from a Leader in Women's Health
Dr. Kanako Inaba, the founder and head of Inaba Clinic in Shibuya, will lead the session, bringing a wealth of expertise in women's health. A graduate of Kyoto University, she completed her doctorate at the University of Tokyo and juggles her responsibilities as a prominent medical professional and a mother of four. Dr. Inaba is also involved heavily in public health projects, serving as the head of the “Minpapi! Let’s Understand HPV Project” and as deputy leader of the “Medical Femtech Consortium.” Her widespread contributions to health education make her an ideal figure to inform the workshop attendees.
Continuous Commitment to Supporting Cancer Patients
This marks the second time that Randstad's Gender ERG has organized an educational webinar focusing on cancer. Following a successful initial event in December 2023, which also included medical speakers and addressed living with cancer, this new aspect continues to build on their commitment to supporting a conducive workplace culture for those affected by cancer.
In support of cancer treatment while working, Randstad has aligned itself with the “Cancer Ally Declaration” since November 2023, showcasing their commitment to alternatives for individuals managing the dual demands of work and treatment. In recognition of its initiatives, Randstad was presented with the inaugural Bronze Award at the “Cancer Ally Awards 2024.” This recognition applauds Randstad’s efforts in fostering an environment that promotes dialogue about cancer, eases consultations, and builds supportive systems.
Randstad is dedicated to being recognized as “the most equitable and specialized workforce services company in the world.” As part of its strategy, the company promotes work-life balance for all employees, ensuring that they can work in a manner that suits their personal situations. The absence of mandatory core hours and the provision of hybrid work modes facilitate not only the flexibility of work but also the structure needed for specialized consultation services available 24/7 at no cost. The webinar is part of Randstad’s ongoing effort to foster a society where everyone can confidently cope with cancer and pursue healthy, fulfilling lives.
