Madeline Larsen, Director of Organizational Improvement, Riverview Health


Facing critical challenges related to sepsis outcomes, Madeline Larsen led a pivotal transformation at Riverview Health. Her dedicated and compassionate approach not only improved compliance rates but also enhanced patient safety and satisfaction. By actively engaging staff at all levels, she successfully turned their feedback into evidence-based strategies, demonstrating the profound impact of collaborative leadership.

Radiology Oncology Department, Barnes Jewish West County Hospital


The Radiology Oncology team undertook a significant 15-month construction project while maintaining high standards of patient care. Their ability to navigate challenges without compromising care exemplifies true excellence in healthcare delivery.

Peter Abellera, Volunteer Coordinator, Saint Louise Regional Hospital


As Chair of the Patient Experience Committee, Peter Abellera has been an inspiration for staff and patients alike. His innovative initiatives, such as the "Commit to Sit" campaign, have helped foster a culture of compassion. By creating recognition programs to celebrate extraordinary service, he has embedded a spirit of excellence within the institution.

Med/Surg Nurses, Floyd County Medical Center


Sometimes the most remarkable acts of care extend beyond traditional measures. At Floyd County Medical Center, the Med/Surg nursing team orchestrated a heartfelt moment for a patient wishing to attend his granddaughter's wedding virtually. Dressed elegantly and surrounded by support from hospital staff, the patient experienced a cherished memory, proving that true healing encompasses emotional as well as physical care.

Recognizing Excellence Nationwide


This year’s awards reflect a broad spectrum of healthcare excellence—from patient safety and community impact to organizational culture and physician leadership. Among the recipients is Nancy Gere from Watsonville Community Hospital, who received the Brand Excellence recognition. Additionally, Laura Frank of Hackensack Meridian Health was acknowledged for her contributions to community impact. Julie Geils from Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital received accolades for Healthcare Excellence, and Dr. Johnny Perez from Bayou Bend Health System was recognized for exemplary physician leadership.
