CATL Introduces Groundbreaking 9MWh TENER Stack Energy Storage Solution for Global Market

CATL Launches the TENER Stack: A New Era in Energy Storage

In a remarkable unveiling at ees Europe 2025, CATL has introduced the TENER Stack, the first energy storage system to offer an impressive 9MWh capacity. This breakthrough highlights a new standard in energy storage solutions, affirming CATL's position as a leader in the energy sector. The TENER Stack is engineered to cater to the escalating global energy demands, particularly for AI-driven data centers and the electrification of heavy industries.

Revolutionizing Energy Storage

The TENER Stack stands out for its combination of high energy density, flexible deployment options, and enhanced safety features. With its ability to store 9MWh of energy, the system can power 150 electric vehicles or sustain an average German household for six years. Amanda Xu, CTO of ESS at CATL, emphasized that this system breaks away from limitations of previous models by providing greater space and energy efficiency, making it a game-changer in energy storage.

Enhanced Capacity and Efficiency

TENER Stack employs CATL's advanced high-energy-density battery technology, which includes a five-year zero degradation promise. Compared to traditional 20-foot container systems, the TENER Stack achieves a remarkable 45% increase in volume utilization and a 50% rise in projected energy density. This means that for installations requiring 800 MWh of storage, the TENER Stack demands nearly one-third fewer containers than typical systems, allowing developers to realize a significant cost optimization of up to 20% in construction.

Addressing Transportation Challenges

In light of transportation challenges linked to regulations of heavy freight containers, CATL's innovative
