Unveiling Huasun's Kunlun Series HJT Modules for High-Performance Solar Applications
Huasun Energy, a leader in high-efficiency solar technology, has introduced its latest product line—the Kunlun Series HJT solar modules. These cutting-edge modules are designed to achieve remarkable performance levels, boasting nearly 100% bifaciality. This innovation is particularly tailored for vertical photovoltaic applications, providing a strategic solution to the modern challenges of land use and energy efficiency.
In light of increasing land constraints and fluctuating electricity prices, Huasun's President and CEO, Xiaohua (Jimmy) Xu, emphasizes the need for advanced energy solutions that meet the requirements of modern energy systems. The introduction of the Kunlun Series is a significant shift in the photovoltaic market. According to Xu, this new technology enables what is being termed "double peak energy generation," particularly beneficial in vertical installations, thus contributing to improved energy security and economic viability.
The collaboration of Huasun with German company Next2Sun highlights the practical applications of the Kunlun modules. For instance, in a 5.2 MW vertical Agri-PV project located in Merzig-Wellingen, the HJT modules demonstrated an innovative approach by enhancing energy yield. A project representative shared that the modules effectively minimized issues related to snow and dust accumulation, while also harnessing reflected sunlight, resulting in a 12% increase in energy generation beyond initial expectations. The bifacial design facilitates optimized solar absorption, contributing to higher vertical photovoltaic efficiency while minimizing light pollution and land disruption.
A notable simulation conducted for a 96.8 MW AC Agri-PV project in Blankenfelde, Germany, showed that Huasun’s 720 W HJT modules, with an impressive efficiency rating of 23.2%, outperform traditional TOPCon panels. They succeeded in extending operational hours by 7.91%, reducing land use by 10 hectares while also cutting balance-of-system costs by 1.92%. Such results led to an 8.72% lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and a 3.76% higher internal rate of return (IRR), showcasing the Kunlun Series' competitive edge in vertical solar applications.
This forward-thinking design allows for installation in various constrained environments, including transport systems and offshore locations. Huasun's HJT modules possess ultra-low degradation rates—≤1% in the first year and ≤0.3% annually—alongside an optimized temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C, ensuring long-term efficiency and dependability. Enhanced encapsulation technology, comprising EVA, light conversion film, butylic adhesive, and specialized glass design, significantly improves the modules' durability and stability in energy production while lowering operational and maintenance costs.
Huasun Energy is not just a manufacturer but a pioneer in the field, specializing in the research and development as well as large-scale production of high-efficiency HJT silicon wafers, cells, and modules. With over 11 GW of HJT products delivered to more than 60 countries and an annual production capacity of 20 GW, Huasun claims the title of the world's leading HJT manufacturer, solidifying its position in the global solar energy market.
