Blue Moon Metals Unveils Promising Assay Results and Advances Springer Exploration Projects
Blue Moon Metals Unveils New Assay Results
Blue Moon Metals Inc. recently shared encouraging findings from its extensive re-assaying campaign at the Springer Tungsten Project, located in Pershing County, Nevada. With approximately 18,000 meters of historical core undergoing validation, the company aims to enhance the existing geological model while assessing the potential of untested mineralized sections.
Key Highlights from the Recent Campaign
1. Re-assaying Progress: The company has successfully relogged around 64% of the historical cores, yielding significant results from various drill holes. Among the noteworthy findings are:
- NM-13: A notable interval of 7.00 meters grading 1.28% WO₃ and 0.01% Mo was confirmed from 160 meters depth.
- NM-44: This hole revealed a 24.25-meter grading 0.22% WO₃, with a remarkable subsection of 9.55 meters grading 0.53% WO₃ and 0.12% Mo at a depth of 249 meters.
- SU-27: Underground drilling here showcased an 8.24-meter section yielding 0.64% WO₃ and 0.01% Mo from 59 meters.
2. Stockpile Sampling Program: Recently, the company initiated a detailed stockpile sampling program, resulting in 499 unique samples taken across 28 stockpiles. These analyses are crucial for assessing the viability of processing the stockpiled materials through the Springer facility, which boasts a 1,200 tons per day flotation plant.
3. Approval from BLM: Blue Moon secured approval from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for its exploration notice, allowing for drilling and auger sampling on public lands. This development paves the way for expanding the exploration initiative further, including the establishment of up to 13 new drill pads on public land.
Building a Stronger Geological Understanding
The ongoing exploration efforts at the Springer site not only validate previously acquired data but also point towards the potential for higher-grade tungsten deposits. According to Theodore Veligrakis, VP of Exploration, the results from the core re-assay program confirm the quality and scale of mineralization in the area, highlighting the possibility of improved resource continuity.
Additionally, Blue Moon's strategic re-evaluation aims to include samples from previously high-graded areas that may yield lower-grade materials and overlooked mineralization outside primary skarn lenses. This expanded focus enhances the understanding of the geological landscape, particularly in identifying new targets like the Granodiorite Springer Stock, which hosts significant mineralization indicators.
Insights Into Historical Operations
Blue Moon’s exploration strategy leverages an extensive archive of historical diamond drill core data, some of which dates back to the 1970s when General Electric conducted explorations on the property. The re-assaying program reveals that earlier core samples only covered about 5% of the available material. By increasing sampling coverage to around 44%, and adhering to stringent quality assurance protocols, the company is establishing a robust dataset for future evaluations.
The potential for larger scale, economically viable mineralization at depth has garnered increased interest, particularly with the discovery of favorable grades in a deep hole (NM-49) originally drilled at 880 meters depth, indicating considerable resource potential below surface levels.
Vision for the Future
As Blue Moon advances its initiatives at Springer, the ongoing geological and stockpile assessments will be critical to framing future operations and expansion. With tungsten being listed as a critical metal essential for the U.S. economy, the successful development of the Springer project could play a vital role in addressing the increasing demand for these resources.
Blue Moon is also actively advancing other polymetallic projects, positioning itself strategically within the market while ensuring a robust and sustainable supply chain for essential metals. In light of these developments, stakeholders and investors are advised to remain vigilant regarding forthcoming assays and exploration updates as the company continues to unlock the potential at Springer.
