Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in medical technology and life science from Kansas State University in 1982, Dr. Braden later earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University in 2002. Her residency training at POH Regional Medical Center in internal and emergency medicine, completed in 2007, equipped her with the skills necessary for her esteemed career.
Dr. Braden has exemplified outstanding leadership throughout her professional journey. After a period serving as Chief Quality Officer from September 2021 to April 2024—where she spearheaded initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare—she returned to her significant roles as Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Medical Director of Medical Education in April 2024.
Commitment to Education and Improvement
From 2010 to 2021, Dr. Braden served diligently as the Director of Graduate Medical Education at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center. Her role involved overseeing medical education programs and institutional management, ensuring the next generation of healthcare providers received exceptional training and mentorship.
As an active emergency physician with Southern Colorado Emergency Medicine Associates from July 2009 until September 2024, Dr. Braden has remained deeply engaged in delivering critical care to patients. Her professional affiliations include the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the American College of Physicians (ACP), and other notable organizations, highlighting her commitment to ongoing education and advocacy in medicine.

As she makes strides in her professional life, Dr. Braden has plans to transition into retirement within the next five years. Her intention is to practice as a rural physician, with the aim of extending care to underserved communities, further demonstrating her commitment to healthcare accessibility.
