Dalton School Tokyo Hosts a Summer Seminar for Elementary Students Focused on Inquiry Learning

Dalton School Tokyo's Summer Seminar for Elementary Students

Dalton School Tokyo, part of the Kawai Juku Group, is set to host an engaging summer seminar designed for students in grades 4 to 6 from August 21 to August 23. This seminar will take place at Dalton Tokyo Gakuen's junior high and high school in Chofu, where teachers from the institution will be in charge of the instruction and operations. The seminar promises an exciting lineup of five inquiry-based learning sessions, incorporating relatable themes such as soap bubbles, snacks, and 50-meter sprints, all designed to spark curiosity among young minds using state-of-the-art facilities like the STEAM lab.

A Step Towards the Future Over Three Days

The after-school program at Dalton School emphasizes hands-on experiences, including experiments and interactions with teachers, allowing children to discover principles and laws on their own. For upper-grade elementary students, it’s a pivotal period to develop essential thinking skills, such as abstract reasoning and hypothesis testing. These skills become increasingly important in their later academic journeys. Therefore, in response to the prevalent demand from parents and students, Dalton School is excited to unveil this summer seminar tailored for older elementary students for the first time.

During the seminar, specially designed programs will be led by teachers from Dalton Tokyo Gakuen's junior and high schools. Each program revolves around themes relevant to students' daily lives and society, blending experimental methods, programming, and field observations to stimulate intellectual curiosity. This three-day experience not only offers advanced learning opportunities but also aids in students' independent research projects, making it ideal for curious young minds. We invite widespread media coverage of this event and encourage on-site reporting as well!
