HIS Takes Action for Sustainable Tourism with Tree Planting at My Son Sanctuary

In a major step towards promoting sustainable tourism, H.I.S. Vietnam, a subsidiary of H.I.S. Co., Ltd., has initiated a tree planting project at the UNESCO World Heritage site of My Son Sanctuary. This initiative, carried out in partnership with the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, aligns with their agreed objective of enhancing green tourism and sustainable tourism development in the region.

Background of the Tree Planting Activity at My Son Sanctuary

My Son Sanctuary is a collection of structures from the ancient Champa Kingdom that flourished between the 4th and 13th centuries. Officially recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 1999, it has faced tremendous challenges due to natural disasters and conflict, leading to damage sustained by many of its buildings. Preservation and restoration efforts are ongoing to ensure that the historical and cultural value of this site is passed on to future generations.

In addition to the restoration of the historical structures, the conservation of the surrounding natural landscape and forest ecosystems is a crucial aspect of sustainable development. H.I.S. Vietnam's tree-planting activity, which aims to support both landscape and soil conservation, represents a commitment to fostering green tourism practices. Moving forward, H.I.S. Vietnam plans to strengthen collaboration with local institutions to create a sustainable tourism destination that harmonizes environmental preservation with tourism development.
