DAIKI AXIS Conducts Workshops and Illustration Contest in Sri Lanka

In an effort to raise awareness about water conservation and environmental preservation, DAIKI AXIS, through its group company DAIKI AXIS ENVIRONMENT (PVT) LTD., recently held a series of workshops and an illustration contest in Sri Lanka. The initiative took place in several locations across the country, aiming to educate local children and their families about the importance of water resources and waste treatment.

Workshops to Educate and Engage

Before inviting participants to create their illustrations, the DAIKI AXIS team conducted informative workshops focused on water environments and treatment systems. Collaborating with the local NGO Surangani Voluntary Services, the workshops reached 202 participants across five locations in Sri Lanka. The sessions not only informed attendees about the mechanisms of septic tanks but also allowed them to interact with miniature models and learn about the essential filtration materials used within these systems.

Participants expressed their newfound appreciation for water, with many stating, "I want to cherish water more now" and "I hope activities like this will become more common." These statements reflect a deepening concern for environmental issues within the community.

After the educational workshops, 116 children took part in the illustration contest, drawing vibrant depictions of life in harmony with nature and hopeful visions for the future. Their unique perspectives and positive messages, portrayed through colorful illustrations, highlighted the creativity and optimism of the younger generation.

Award Ceremony Celebrating Young Artists

On June 22, DAIKI AXIS held an award ceremony at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo, where all 116 young artists were invited to celebrate their achievements. Many of these children had never visited the capital before, which made the event a memorable experience for them.

The award ceremony was graced by the presence of Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister of Environment, who delivered an encouraging speech about the significance of environmental protection. DAIKI AXIS CEO Hiroki Okami also attended the event, presenting certificates and prizes to the talented young winners.
