OCHIS and MY MEDICA Forge Partnership to Enhance Trucking Safety and Health
On July 25, 2025, the NPO Health Care Network (OCHIS), led by Chairperson Hiroshi Takeda, has announced its partnership with MY MEDICA Inc., a subsidiary of Yamato Holdings, to tackle health-related accidents in the trucking industry. By hosting joint seminars and integrating their systems, both organizations aim to significantly reduce health-related incidents among truck drivers.
Background of the Partnership
OCHIS has been at the forefront of addressing sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) among truck drivers, collaborating with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, trucking industry organizations, and trucking operators to promote health and safety measures. They have developed various initiatives, including the “Health Incident Prevention Manual for Trucking Operators” in collaboration with the Japan Trucking Association and the Management of Health Examination Results through the “Transport Health Care Navigation System®.” This demonstrates their commitment to preventing health-related accidents in the trucking industry.
On the other hand, MY MEDICA offers an online medical service that ensures seamless health management for employees involved in transport operations. Since February 2025, their platform allows for easy booking, medical consultations, medication guidance, and delivery services, directly targeting companies in the trucking, taxi, and bus sectors, with over 50 firms currently using their service.
Future Initiatives
1. Hosting Joint Seminars
Throughout 2025, OCHIS and MY MEDICA will actively engage in raising awareness through joint seminars aimed at promoting health and minimizing health-related accidents in the trucking industry. The partners will also focus on mutual referrals to enhance the management of health examination results, thereby increasing the rate of follow-up examinations among trucking operators.
2. System Integration
By November 2025, OCHIS and MY MEDICA plan to unify the input and output formats of the “Transport Health Care Navigation System®” and “MY MEDICA” to facilitate smoother data sharing. This integration will allow for efficient extraction of data concerning re-examinees and monitor their progress collectively, aiding in reducing the administrative burden related to health examinations within trucking businesses.
By leveraging the strengths of both organizations, this partnership is poised to make significant strides towards enhancing health and safety standards in the trucking industry, ensuring drivers are healthier and accidents due to health issues are drastically reduced.
