Guillermo Viveros Takes the Helm at Gardner Health Services
On August 10, 2026, Gardner Health Services, a prominent federally accredited health center, has announced the appointment of Guillermo Viveros as its new President and CEO. This celebrated organization, which delivers primary and mental health care in the Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, is poised for an exciting new chapter under Viveros' leadership.
Having previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer and serving as the interim CEO, Viveros steps into his new role with a wealth of experience. With his strategic vision and strong grasp of corporate finance, he aims to navigate Gardner through evolving healthcare landscapes, ensuring it continues to provide essential services to its community.
A Decade of Leadership
Viveros brings over 20 years of significant experience in corporate finance, operations, and international leadership. His previous involvement with Gardner Health Services dates back to 2017 when he served on the Board of Directors, where he actively contributed to the organization's long-term strategic planning and financial sustainability. His insights were invaluable, and he was instrumental in guiding the community health initiatives that Gardner champions today.
William G. Roth, Chairman of the Board, expressed confidence in Viveros, stating, "Guillermo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision during his tenure as CFO and interim CEO. With his financial discipline and deep operational knowledge, he is precisely what Gardner needs in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment."
Before joining Gardner Health Services, Viveros contributed his financial expertise to various prominent technology companies. He served as Chief Financial Officer for marketing strategies at Freshworks and held key financial operations roles at Infoblox, Inc. His impressive resume includes senior finance roles at TiVo, Inc., and an extensive 11-year period at Juniper Networks, where he held significant positions related to corporate finance and operational efficiency.
Educational Credentials
Viveros holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and International Business from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Besides his corporate endeavors, he also serves on various boards, including the Foundation for Hearing Research and Filoli Historic House and Garden.
Commitment to Community Health
As he assumes the leadership of Gardner Health Services, Viveros reflects on the organization's rich history. Originally established in 1967 with the support of Stanford Medical School and local communities to address a lack of healthcare access for Mexican agricultural workers, Gardner Health Services has now grown to serve over 47,000 patients annually, with an operational budget exceeding $100 million.
Viveros articulated, "I am deeply honored and motivated to lead Gardner Health Services as the President and CEO. Gardner has a proud 59-year history that focuses on advocacy, health equity, and compassionate care for underserved populations. As we progress into a continuously evolving healthcare landscape, my goal will be to strengthen our operational foundation, expand high-quality primary and mental health services, and foster an environment where our committed healthcare professionals and staff can thrive in serving our patients and community."
Gardner Health Services identifies its mission as pivotal in enhancing the health and well-being of the communities in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, and Viveros' leadership is expected to strengthen this mission moving forward.
