Shenyang Marathon 2026: A Celebration of Community and Culture



On September 6, 2026, the Shengjing Bank Shenyang Marathon ignited excitement as nearly 22,000 running enthusiasts converged in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province in Northeastern China. This year’s marathon not only brought together local and international runners but also highlighted the vibrant culture and spirit of the region.

An Inclusive Experience


The marathon featured participation in both the full and half marathon events, attracting approximately 10,000 competitors for the full marathon and 12,000 for the half marathon. The race commenced early in the morning, underlining the shared passion for running and healthy living among participants.

In the men’s full marathon, a runner from Kenya clinched the top spot, showcasing the competitive nature of the event. Meanwhile, the women’s segment was won by an Ethiopian runner. In the half-marathon category, Chinese athletes Zhang Xiaorui and Zhao Na emerged victorious in their respective divisions, further solidifying the prowess of local runners.

The Shenyang Marathon was designed with inclusivity in mind. The event's organizers provided assistance via 30 certified first-aid runners who supported older participants, those with visual impairments, and wheelchair users. This initiative not only enhanced safety but also showcased a spirit of mutual care that characterized the marathon.
